What is the Omni Card?

How to use your Omni Card
The Omni Card is a flexible debit card designed for users who manage their money across multiple Pods. Whether you’re splitting expenses, budgeting tightly, or keeping spending categories separate, the Omni Card helps you stay in control without the mess of multiple cards.

Please note: The Omni Card cannot be used at ATMs to withdraw or deposit cash.

What is an Omni Card?
An Omni Card is a physical debit card that can charge any Pod (tied to a specific beneficiary). Think of it as one card with access to several sources of funds within your Sequence setup.
It’s perfect for in-person or pro-active purchases where you need real-time control over which Pod you’re spending from. For recurring charges, online subscriptions or an automated payment, a standard Sequence debit card might be a better fit.

How to order an Omni Card
  1. Go to the Cards Hub
  2. Click the debit card icon on the left-side navigation bar.
  3. Select “New card”
  4. Then choose Omni when prompted.
  5. Pick the desired beneficiary
  6. Choose the personal or business entity you want the card to be associated with.
  7. The card will have access to all Pods opened under this beneficiary.
That’s it—once the card arrives, you’ll need to activated it and you’re ready to go.

How it works
Before making a purchase, you’ll need to select which Pod the card should charge. This can’t be done retroactively, so make sure you’ve chosen the right one before you tap or swipe.
A few more things to know:
  • An Omni Card can charge a Pod even if that Pod already has its own card.
  • Each Omni Card is specific to one beneficiary but can access any of their Pods.
  • You can update the active Pod whenever you need to—just switch it before the next charge.
  • If you did not choose any Pod, the card will default to the last Pod that was chosen.
  • If the chosen Pod does not have enough balance, the transfer will fail.

Who is it for?
The Omni Card is a great fit for:
  • Users who do a lot of physical shopping.
  • Those who budget carefully using multiple Pods.
  • People who want a single card but flexible control over what account gets charged.
If you're managing auto-renewing services or subscriptions, you're likely better off using a standard Sequence debit card assigned directly to the relevant Pod.

“Before making a purchase, you’ll need to select which Pod the card should charge”

How? This article says what you have to do but not how to do it.

Omni card sounds like a coole product, but it could be enhanced maybe:

Update it to have rules-based pod-pulling. So, for example, when a charge comes through from Home Depot, the rule says “Pull from the Home Depot pod”. This way you could have the card set to a default pod, but auto-pull from other pods based on the merchant/rule matching.

One day, when Sequence has their own app (not a web app but one that's native to the phone OS), it would be cool if the app would prompt you after the purchase ran with a prompt asking which pod to pull the money out of. Maybe that's too much of a technical challenge but it would be so cool if it were feasible.
